Last Friday I was talking with Gavin and Adam about my ideas which decided to combine light and quotes together. We talk a lot and in the first we just go on with the "hidden message" part, because thought that can be a proper start of my work, but after that we talk more about how to do it better, and there's a idea comes up and that's the Light Bites.
Firstly, the name related to light, and they told me it is generally believed that it is a word which well known by people, it also can called "Lite Bite",which means a small dish/meal, such as a tiny cake, a piece of waffle or a sausage roll. However, it's not a phrase/words group, I can't find it in the dictionary, even if I use the Urban Dictionary. Therefore, I can only mark the meaning one by one.
On the http://dictionary.reference.com, I find out the meaning of two words.
Lite
an informal, simplified spelling of light , used especially in labelling or advertising commercial products: lite beer.
Bite
a small meal: Let's have a bite before the theatre.
Secondly, the meaning of ''light bite'' of my project would be link to some short, smart and philosophical quotes, terse but comprehensive; The words were few, but they contained a profound truth. In addition, the quotes most likely could Enlighten the viewers more or less. For instance,
“Lights will guide your home.”
“We'll be glowing in the dark.”
“Enlighten your mind.”
I believe some phrase like these are quite interesting, you can get some inwardness or some kind emotion form those text. You might able to feels like you got enlightened or motivated even inspired.
However, that's not smart enough, so I plan to use the UV or luminous elements into the type part to play a hidden message game with viewer. One or more words even part of a word was designed print or draw with these fluorescent paint in a phrase, that going to be unable or hard to been spotted in the slightly dusk day light. And these word or words are designed as the "Hidden Message"; which will change the original meaning of the phrase, here is a example.
Example 1
Write down: Enlighten your mind with fluorescent paint but "y".
In day light “Enlighten your mind.”
↓
In UV light “Enlighten our mind.”
This one might make the viewer feels like he/she is able to enlighten someone else, kind of praise or motivate
himself/herself.
Example 2
This one might make the viewer feels like he/she is the one who able to see the beauty side of everything, and feels different even better than others.
More that this is use fluorescent paint to draw some image to match up the phrase, or let it be a meaning beyond it, here is a example.
